016- Anything You Can Do…

Well a little late again, but my mother flew up to Washington for a visit so I was a wee bit too distracted to get any work done. Which of course is diplomatic speak for she wanted me to spend some time with her instead of being on the computer. Anyway a bit late in day and time, but here we have the continuation of the main storyline. Things will be picking up shortly, and hopefully I can be more on the ball with getting pages out.

Uhg, the pitfalls of the computer age have once again arisen to bite my precious update schedule in the hindquarters, rendering my efforts ineffectual. It turns out my crash issues were not in fact due to memory issues from pushing my machine too hard (600 dpi files on a 32 bit OS) but are in fact a byproduct of my video card’s fan dying. The actual card has yet to die but it’s been overheating like crazy and lagging things down to a crawl.

Good news- I’ve got a new card on the way. Bad news- No idea when it’s going to get here and I’ll be able to start in on the comics again. The more I work on the comic the more I realize I really need to upgrade my machine…

This is becoming a habit that I am becoming increasingly infuriated at. This isn’t live journal, so do not fear, I will not go on a woe-is-me tirade of everything making life rough for me at the moment, slowing down the process of comic creation. If I am lucky I will be trading up from my part time web development job for a full time one in Seattle. I’ve had three great interviews with the company, but in the middle of the hiring process the corporation decided to restructure and shift the entire division I was interviewing with to another branding, making it draw out the process of getting on board.

In other news however, I have added some art updates to the deviant art account at:

http://io-t.deviantart.com/.

Check it out, there’s some interesting pieces in there Fantasy Writ and MMO related.

At Your Service~

A gust of wind blows through the open doorway, heralding the arrival of the Windrunner known and loved by all many some, Koge! *tosses roses to the select some* Many thanks again, dear readers, as we come around once again to another two weeks having passed. Fast are the days that we live in, ne? As I turn to look and see that the number of articles I’ve managed to produce to date has entered the realm of two digits! Yes, indeed, it’s my tenth article written to you all! I certainly hope I’m able to make it a momentous occasion by giving you a splendid answer to a splendid question or few.

♦Koge, my bro! I just had my birthday and can now get drunk legally! Do you have any advice for bars to go get wasted at?? Kick ass, man!

-Ready To Party!!

I can sense the enthusiasm in this letter as strongly as I can smell the liquor that lines it! Another name to go with a letter (kinda), and I can tell that anonymity is a popular idea with my crowd. Which is perfectly welcome around here, dear readers, the only person who needs to advertise themselves around here is me. As it turns out, I am quite experienced at judging places that serve alcohol to its customers as a prime means of income. I’ll be more than happy to lend you what advice I can to help you party all the more hard!

There are many different kinds of places that one can go and inebriate themselves. They have different names and different qualities but they all have the foul-smelling liquids in bottles that help aid you in a younger death. Some of the safer places to try and get a drink is an inn or a tavern. A place where someone can also get a decent bite to eat or a comfortable place to rest. I find that you don’t often come across troublemakers in places like that. Not really in the mood when they’d rather be enjoying their meals or getting a good amount of sleep indoors and not out where there are creatures that might find them to be enjoyable meals. So if you’re going for a place that’s safe for drinking then chances are those are the places for you. Of course, they aren’t necessarily places to go and party your asses of. The same people I mentioned before might not appreciate having a loud group of people getting drunk and partying hard while they’re attempting to eat or sleep.

Another variation to keep in mind are the places referred to as a hole-in-the-wall. Most of these places are shady in nature and rarely easy to find. There’s a reason for that and I’m sorry to inform you that it’s not because it’s the most happenin’ joint in the town. It’s because most of the people that are there don’t want to be easily found themselves. And the majority of people like that are often dangerous in some regard. Some of them have brooms and dustpans right near the front door since broken windows are a daily happenstance. Particularly with all of the bodies flying through them from barfights. Some could argue that there is some seriously hard partying going on in those places and I might be inclined to agree. However, I imagine that those that ARE looking for a bar to go to that would allow them to party hard might want to go to a place that they could party hard at more than once in their lifetime. Not as much fun to be had if they die during the party. Particularly since there’s no guarantee their body will ever be found.

Best bet for a place to go to for partying hard is usually well-lit, heavily populated, and noisy. Lots of people mingling with one another as drinks are passed around and a good band in the corner. You can always find like minds in such places, those who are looking to drink a wide variety of legal poisons and the nearly endless list of concoctions that can be made with them while having a great time with their friends. Of course, everyone has their own preferences as to where they’d prefer to go drink and party so my suggestion isn’t necessarily the best choice for all. There may be those who want to live it up in an inn or tavern, there may be those who prefer to raise the stakes a bit and sit in the company of those who are more than likely supposed to be locked away in a cell that can’t remember what sunlight feels like. It is up to you in the end, I just offer my advice.

And with that we come to the close of another session of “At Your Service”. I hope it was enlightening for you all and hopefully the next time Ready-To-Party!! decides to write in to me it will be with gratitude in his letter although perhaps without the scent of the morning after lingering on it as well. I look forward to the next article myself, until next time have a drink on me. To you, friends and foes alike~ *toasts*
